Louise is Co-Founder & a Director of Ark Fencing & Garden Services, based in South Wales.

Alongside her husband Richard, she helps homeowners across Cwmbran, Pontypool, Newport, and Chepstow create gardens that feel calm, beautiful, and built to last.

She is also a long time home educating Mum encouraging flexible imaginative approaches to their creatively talented daughter.

When she’s not writing or working with clients, Louise loves walking her dogs, painting and finding new ways to make her home and garden feel warm and cosy.

This decking was looking a bit worse for wear after a wet winter!

It’s been scrubbed and jet washed and treated with natural decking oil which should nourish the wood while protecting against water, mould, mildew and fungal growth.

Some slat fencing we installed recently. All made to measure, we used 4x4 posts, 3x2 rails, a 6x2 kick on this one, 4x1 slats and 4x1 frame.

It’s a smart solid fence and our customers were very happy!

Here you can see we have built this 6ft 6” fence. Using 4x4 posts concreted at the correct depth, 3x2 rails, 6x1 kick, feather edge and capped with this frame.

Feather edge fencing installation carried out in Newport, South Wales.

We recently removed this section of fencing and replaced it with a smart new 6ft feather edge fence with a frame. There were a few obstacles to get around as you’ll see, but that was no problem for us.

We’re a small family business and we always treat every garden like it’s our own. If your fence is a bit wobbly or tired looking, we’re happy to pop over and take look for you. We can give advice and let you know if things can be repaired vs a cost on new. This way you can decide what is best for you.
