Recently, our family were lucky enough to have a little break away, to have some chill time and recharge.

None of us are really fussed about going on camera but I thought I’d share some of the scenes with you.

I love history and old buildings so this place was perfect. It is a 16th Century Longhouse in mid Wales with local links which I checked out in relation to our family history and ancestry.

There was a big garden for our dogs to run around, our daughter had a huge bedroom so that was a hit for her and we also had the use of a hot tub.

In the video you will see a little cupboard in the wall which houses the original wall painting with which this home was decorated in the 1700’s! 😍

We all felt grateful and blessed to have this time to have a holiday together. Back to work now! 😆

But super grateful that we are able to do what we love!

A little project with a lot of character 🌿

This waney edge gate, short run of fencing and trellis bring both function and charm to the garden. The trellis is ready for a clematis to climb, adding softness and seasonal colour as it grows.

And then there’s the sign by the gate: “Trespassers will be composted.” 😂 A garden with personality if ever there was one!

Sometimes life gets a little crazy and you find yourself in 6ft of brambles. Did you know brambles can grow up to 1ft per day?

We cleared this area within a couple of hours. Stage 1 complete on this garden and our customer can now see what’s what, ready for stage 2 plans!

A little change from our regular type of work, it was like going back to the old days in 2007.

This little corner is so easy to look after, the plants need minimal attention.

We get it, life is busy, but that doesn’t mean you have to give up on real beauty, and a real garden. Which, let’s face it, lifts your vibe!

This border was retained using rocks found in the garden. It features a bay tree, hydrangea, tiger lilys and hydrangea paniculata. It puts on a display from June through to late summer.

In late spring and late autumn the area is checked over and any weeds or ash trees are pulled and the border is topped up with bark. If we have very dry weather they have some watering but are very hardy.

The tiger lillies will die back in the winter, the waste will be removed to discouraged slugs and added to the compost heap. The hydrangeas will be deadheaded, trimmed down to a leaf node in a way that will maintain the shape and size we want in early spring.

Super easy, you should try it!

Sturdy waney edge fencing which is oiled with OSMO 420 and a pergola covering the area, using 4x4 posts and 6x2. This section of the garden is refreshed and renewed, ready for lots of fun and BBQs this summertime!

Here we built a 6ft feather edge fence using 4x 4 sturdy posts set at the correct depth in concrete. The new height increases privacy here.

The replacement decking is built using a strong 6x2 frame, fixed to posts concrete into the ground and smooth side up 6 inch deck boards.
