Here's to 2014...

Well, it's a few days now until New Years Eve, so we'll take a chance to say Happy New Year to you, and we hope you had a great Christmas. We've had a chance to have a break with family and friends and re-charge the batteries. Christmas has been a lot of fun for us this year since our little girl is three, so I can only describe it as magic!

Now that the New Year is upon us, it's time to reflect and make plans for the future ahead of us, which is very exciting. Of course we are looking at how we can learn from what has or hasn't worked effectively for us in the past, and how we can improve things for the future of our business. One of our aims is of course to keep our existing customers happy, but we would also like to expand our business. This is easier said than done! There is a lot of competition in our local area, some of it great and some of it not so great! There have been times when we have been called out to fix the mistakes of others, but saying that there are many talented landscapers out there. So, one of the things we need to do is stand out from the crowd!

Hopefully, we are able to stand out in some respect as we really do pride ourselves on the quality of our work. Also, we have been busy this year with getting to grips with methods of social networking. We are currently using Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Linked In, Pinterest and of course this blog. We have connected with a fair few landscapers which is very interesting. As you may know, we are a husband and wife team and surprisingly there are a fair few of us out there, so that's great to know. However, we are yet to launch our website, this will be ready real soon and hopefully it will prove to be invaluable!

Our immediate plan is we are going to enjoy the last few days of our holidays, have a few drinks and get scribbling away with new ideas and methods of doing things. Maybe we’ll come up with something amazing! There are a few things hidden up our sleeves that we will announce when the time is right so watch this space.

Then we’ll be back to work as usual. We have a few small jobs lined up so far including installing a shed, making and installing some gates, fence painting and relocating some shrubs and trees.

Wishing you all the best for the year ahead...
